Emotional Release
***These sessions cannot be booked online and require a consultation. You may email, call, or book a discovery call through the booking link***
When we go through traumatic and emotional events we have physiological responses. The sympathetic nervous system is affected and the impact on our bodies can be tremendous. If we do not allow ourselves to express these emotions they have no where to go. Think of a time where you felt emotion in your body. It could be the tight pain you felt in your chest during a heartbreaking loss or the wave of heat that took over in a state of frustration.
We very rarely allow these emotions to cycle all the way through. Instead many of us end up repressing these feelings and stuffing them down. If we suffered these instances as children we often never had a chance to choose the options of fight or flight, and instead had to freeze. These sensations are still within the body. When we cry in front of others, people with good intentions may say “it’s okay” to calm us. Many of us have heard at some point “don’t cry”, “it’s not so bad”, “get over it”, “people have it worse”, ect. We have been taught to repress these socially unacceptable states. We have learned to shame our expression. Most of us have carried deep hurt for a very long time with no where to put it.
We are usually operating in our head-space, lost in thoughts, and “checked out” physically. We are so out of tune with our bodies that we usually do not notice the effects of emotions until they have manifested into much larger health issues. We are all aware that stress causes a multitude of major health issues. Stress is caused by emotional reactions to to an internal or external source.
In an emotional release session, I will use breath work techniques to bring you into your body and tune into the emotions and physical sensations that arise. I do not suggest anything and follow your lead. This process is for you to acknowledge what is there. I hold the space and bring you back in if you leave your body to go to the thinking mind. These sessions are intense and powerful. I will not work with anyone who has gone through a recent trauma and suggest having a therapist to help assist with what may come up.
These sessions cannot be gifted to others. This experience has to be decided on by the individual. You may tell someone about this work and if they are interested they can contact me to see if it is the right fit. If it is, you may pay for them but gifting without informed consent is not permitted.
